AutoRefresh Pivot and External Data

My problem is that I have numerous Pivot Tables which source this data sheet and on file open the ‘Auto Refresh’ of the Pivots occurs before the external data is captured – hence the data is not updated. Is there a way to ensure the Auto Refresh of the Pivots occurs after the external data is brought into the spreadsheet?
AutoRefresh Pivot and External Data Just a question, why don’t you create the Pivot tables directly from the external query? However the reason why the pivots aren’t constructed solely from the external data source is that i need to use a combination of data from the worksheet bxt17 from the external ms access source to build the required pivots.

In short there is receipting of income within the worksheet as well as from an access database which needs to be combined to reflect a total income position. It all works fine except for the fact that the pivot tables refresh on open before the external data collection from ms query has completed.
The pivot tables do refresh but only with income receipts directly inputted to the worksheet. The external data receipts do not get included in the auto open refresh – only after a manual refresh when the data collection bah17 finished.
Now, right click in the little workbook icon, next to the ‘File’ menu, and choose ‘View code’.
In there, choose ‘Workbook’ from the first dropdown. So it ends up looking like this: This option appears to halt all processes incl pivot updates until the query has finished updating – yippee.
Deselecting the Enable Background Refresh has worked and eliminated a headache of mine. Share it with others Like this thread? Results 1 to 7 of 7.
